Shoot Safely, Shoot Often & Share Field Target!

A brief history of Field Target in Canada

Field Target is a precision airgun sport done in the out of doors.  It has a long history in Canada, having started in 1994 and was the fourth country to join the World Field Target Federation (WFTF).

Canadian Airgun Field Target Association, or more commonly referred to as CAFTA, was formed to oversee the sport and adapt the WFTF rules to the Canadian shooting community.

We have several clubs in Ontario and British Columbia and are actively growing.

We have a strong international presence too, having participated in the past fifteen world championships and recorded numerous top 10 finishes in both team and individual competition with the most recent being 5th in the spring class in 2019.

More importantly, we hold a series of matches through out the summer and fall where everyone is welcome to participate in the exciting sport of airgun field target.
